We usually put our shoes in the coat closet down stairs. I'm the only one that takes them off under our bar near the phone. I can check messages when we get back.

Some time today he decided that they needed to be put away. I had to ask him where he put them. "Your room, under bed." They are not there. Or anyone elses bed either.

I have checked the closet, his room, the kitchen, living rooms, and the bathrooms (3).

I CAN'T FIND THOSE SUCKERS ANYWHERE!!!!!

They are my only tennies. I have Birkenstocks, boots, heels, and slippers coming out of my nose but NO TENNIES!

I can't believe the conversation I had with him to help me find them. He looked at me finally, shrugged his shoulders, and say "I don't know. You can find them."

If he wasn't so cute, I could throttle him. I need to go and play hide and seek with my Tennies.

I hope I win.

I have to have my dining room chairs pushed in when not in use. This is a MUST! Our table has two large posts with the feet coming off of them. There is a stablizer between the posts. This table can seat 10 when the leafs are in.

They were proped up against the stablizer. I never would have been able to see them with the chairs pushed in.

DS found them this morning. "Look mommy, Shoes" He was so proud.

thanks to all for the advice. I did find 50 cents though.LOL

Er... I know you said you looked in the bathroom...but did you look in the toilets?

ROFL @ KatelynnsAuntie! I was thinking the same thing!! My kids used to 'hide' my stuff too, either in the toilets or the trash. You cannot believe the things they threw out. Jeeesh.

Look in any drawer he might have access to. That's where the 2 year old I sit for put my flip flops one day. It's also where I hid my mom's keys when I was that age.

All of the toilets have been used since 4 PM. Nothing overflowing in any of them. LOL I don't think that I would want them back anyway if they were there. I haven't checked drawers or all the garbage cans yet.

I had to take my DD's to soccer practice (6 PM) and that is when I noticed that they were missing.

I think he did it when I was cooking dinner. That stinker!!

Be thankful it's just shoes. When oldest DS was 1 1/2 he hid an envelope we had on the table. Now normally this wouldn't faze me, but this one had $500 in it! To this day, we don't know where it is!

what ou need to do is get down to his level, and crawl around there. From that level, you can see things from his point of view, and spot the best hiding places.

and if he can open the frisge, check the drawers at he bottom, if you have them.

Wowweeee Oogieboogie!! I can imagine I would have just about strangled mine for that! What a happy day it'll be if you ever find it though. ;) I'm guessing you took apart the trash piece by piece?

Little ones are great at hiding things. My younger DS at 2 took my new Seiko watch and hid it. We never found it, even when we moved 2 years ago. He sure had a cute smile when I asked him where it was! I hope you can find your shoes or your DS remembers what he did with them.

DS once hid his tennis shoes when he was that age. He went without for a few days while I turned the house upside down. I finally gave in and bought him another pair. Then they turned up, in his toy oven. "Oh yeah! I was cookin' " was his comment.

Thank you for a great laugh! Kids, you gotta love 'em!

Yup... tore the trash apart, tore the house apart, looked in the ducts too! Never did find it.

I do have to say I had a very clean house after that day! But yes, he got grounded to his room and we had to live really frugally for the next 2 weeks after that!

Wouldn't you know 2 months after that he hid about $50 - we found that one! I tell you, this kid loves money!!!!:teeth:

oogieboogie - did you check his bank? he miht have hid it in there.

I asked him again before I put him down to sleep. he looked at me and smiled. He giggled a bit and said" I don't know. I love you."

I checked the bathroom garbage (all 3), and the closets upstairs. Nothing.

Maybe it's with everyone's watch, money, and the missing laundry socks we all have. they are having a great party and laughing at me.

The search continues. My DD's never did this at his age.

I'm only laughing because I have ONE black sandel, who know where my 3-year-old put the other one. I've been looking for weeks!

OMG and ROTFLMAO to this and the entire thread!! :jester:

Try behind the bedroom doors. Especially ones that you don't usually close. That is where we found the remote 16 years ago when DS hid it. Thank goodness I was in a thorough cleaning mode.

I have twin sons. Once when they were that age we were out at Friendly's eating. Time to leave, can't find the car keys. I knew they were on the table. Looked all round the kids, even in diapers. Made the bus person look in the trash cause I swore he threw them out. I had a spare set in the car and had to convince a police officer to unlock my car for me. When I got home and was changing the boys I found the keys. They had little hiking boots and one of them had them inside his boot.

I can't find my tennis shoes either...the pitiful thing is, I don't have a 2yo to blame it on! Just one more thing slipping thru the sieve that was once a functioning brain....

I tried blaming the cats, but they denied it....

You COULD blame it on the cats. Our cat "stole" my wedding ring soon after we were married. We found it 12 years later in their favorite hiding spot when we ripped out the carpet!

I guess a tennis shoe IS a big big to blame on your kitty though. LOL LOL

Yeah, Bessie Mae Mucho is a big cat, but I don't THINK she takes a size 12 sneaker!
