Dry, Rough Feet....what works thats cheap!

I use Kerasal..it is in a tube in the section of the store that has the orthotics and Dr. Scholl's brand stuff. I want to say it is like 5 or 6 bucks a tube but still worth the money. You put it on after you have showered and you have dried your feet and within a few days that whole layer of dead rough skin will begin to peel off and your feet will be like new. I LOVE IT!!! I use it all summer long so my feet look good in sandals..:goodvibes

A vote for vaseline at night and in the morning. After you put it on at night, put socks on. I also get a pedicure.

The dollar store sells the BEST foot file. Works better than any pumice stone. One side scrapes/scales the dead skin like a FISH!!! :rotfl2: I can't believe I am typing this.....ANYWAYS do it after you get out of the tub. When done lather your heels etc with vaseline, vicks or your favorite lotion. I have found the greasier the better. Then on with the socks! I am in the hot tub a lot and it does a number on the feet with the hot water and chemicals. Good luck and happy sloughing!

I have bouts of dry feet too! After soaking in a warm bath I scrape with a "scaper" by Credo that I bought at Sally's and then I use a "homemade" lotion recommended by our local rehab hospital. They use it on their patients.

All of my ingredients came from Walmart

1 bottle baby lotion (pick your scent or use just the regular baby scent)
1 tube of petroleum cream
2 "pots" of Fruit of the Earth brand vitamin E cream

Mix all of this together. It makes about 2 cups.

For Mother's Day I made a batch and divided it out into small plastic screw on top containers and added curling ribbon. The mothers and grandmothers LOVED it and have since requested more. Same goes for a friend of mine who made it for her mother and mother's friend. They asked her to make more. It's simple and very inexpensive. DH and I both use it for our feet and it has made a remarkable difference. We like it more so than the other foot potions and lotions we've paid $$$ for.

Is the vitamin E cream the cheap stuff you find for like a dollar? And do you find the pertroleum cream with the Vaseline? I love new stuff.

The trick to smooth feet is a three part process: first soak them to soften the skin and exfoliate using a scrub or a pumice stone, then put on a good lotion (Pick your favorite - I use Mary Kay's Visibly Fit Body Lotion or MK Hand Cream), and finally, seal in the moisture with something occlusive - petroleum jelly, or my favorite - Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream (the pink stuff). Then put on a pair of socks and go to bed! Your feet will be happy and soft in no time!

Always ;-)

At our Walmart the Fruit of the Earth vitamin E cream was $3+ for two "pots" and the Equate brand petroleum cream was less than $2 and both are in the lotion section near each other. We have used the off brand to make it each time and all ingredients together with the baby lotion are around $8. And you will have enough to last a long, long time. I mix mine and keep it in a large ZipLock screw on top container.

It's really good stuff and both my friend and myself have told the people we've given it to how to make it yet they still ask us to make it for them (not a problem) like there is some magical process to making it. No, it's really that simple and that good. :)

Are you serious about Vick's Vapor Rub? All the rest I had heard of. I spend a fortune on moisturizers. Tell me about using Vick's, please.

Yep, just rub it on your feet and cover with socks. The menthol and eucalyptus oil will act as an antifungal treatment and at the same time soothe your feet.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I am off to WalMart tomorrow or better yes CVS as I get a percentage back there. You guys are great!:thumbsup2

What size baby lotion? This sounds as if it would be good for my diabetic DH. You may be on to something!

i can not belive not one mention of it

google bag balm (try uses and you will see just how good it is)

yes it's for cows udders but it works on so much more i had really really bad feet and that is the only thing that works

don't laugh it really works on any open cut's , dry skin for everything from dry feet to diaper rashes.

Bag Balm, long used by farmers for chaffed cow udders, has become a mainstay health and beauty product for humans. It's been praised by country singer Shania Twain, featured in movies and recommended by dermatologists, cyclists and tattoo artists.

here is just one place to look

I second the bag balm! My family has been using this for years on scrapes, burns and dry feet. I use it on my dog when he gets heat rashes. Really good stuff!!!

My secret to smooth feet is have DH rub them everynight with baby lotion :)
