How often do the ships go into dry dock? Who is scheduled next?

Well the Fantasy was last year. So Shes got another 2-3 before she'll be due for inspection again.

The classic ships must have 2 out-of-hull inspections every 5 years.

Obviously, the Magic just got out of her 2018 dry dock. Other than that, no other dry docks have been announced to my knowledge.

I know I’m strange but... I have this dream that I get a (right after dry dock) cruise, I get bumped and spend the days at Disney instead and get a discount on a future cruise that makes a “out of my league” cruise affordable.

The next in line should be Dream, then Wonder. Those dry-docks haven’t been announced yet, and I didn’t check the entire lineup of cruise just realeased to spot a missing week in Dream’s schedule. Maybe the answer is in there somewhere.

Sounds lovely. I don't think the first part happened with the Magic delayed after the cadiz dry dock. After being on the Fantasy last year right after dry dock, I wouldn't necessarily do it again, but since it was an extended family trip, it was the only time we had.

Well, technically we don't know why it is empty. Speculation has been it may be the DVC cruise or a charter, but no confirmation of anything yet.

It's also only a 5 day missing slot--which is how long it takes to get from San Diego to Vancouver (with stops). Not enough time to have it out of the water to inspect the hull. It is likely to be a charter of some sort.

So how long is a hull inspection take? And is that what causes a delay, when they find a problem?

I don't know how long it takes, but it takes time to drain the water out of the drydock area, inspect/paint rusty areas, refill the area with water, etc. It's at least a few days. I think Disney's minimum (as they take advantage of that time to also update parts of the ships) is the 2 week drydock the Magic just had.
