I'm assuming from other Navigator's I have seen that on the Fantasy Western Caribbean formal night is the first "day at sea" which is the second night on board.

How quickly can you send items to get pressed upon embarkation? Wondering if I will be able to get my gown and hubby's suit pressed before the second night. Otherwise I will take any and all advice how all the expert cruisers travel and keep formals from being wrinkled during travel!

PS: flying from California and staying the night in Cocoa Beach so there will be ample opportunity for wrinkledge.

Yes you have time to get it done. Don't know about the regular time if it would be done in time but they have a express you get it done in 3 hours. You pay double for this service. They also have a service where you pay 1 and a half time the normal price. Forget how fast they get it done for you

If you have your suitcases before the muster drill, put your clothes to be pressed in the supplied laundry bag, fill
out the form, and hang the laundry bag outside on your fish extender. Your room attendant will take it to
the laundry, and will have it back by 4PM the next night in plenty of time for formal night. No need to pay
for express service. We have done this for "pressing only" several times.

That was our experience as well!

We take a rolling carryon as my day bag. In addition to our wine, it also holds my tux, and sometimes DW's dress for formal nights. When they open the rooms, I quickly unpack my tux (and her dress if necessary). Sometimes wrinkling is minimal so I just hang it up. If it looks like it needs pressing, I put it in the bag for the cleaners and notify our cabin steward. We've always gotten it back the next day, ready to wear. Usually I just request a pressing, but I've had my tux cleaned and pressed a couple of times and the return time is the same.

We dress up for both formal and semi-formal nights. I figure if we're going to use up the weight and space to bring them, might as well wear them at least twice. I bring an extra tux shirt, and both the vest and the cumberbund so I can have a slightly different look each night. DW brings slightly different accessories.

It's such a fabulous service. And really very reasonable.

We tend to call the room attendant to let them know we're setting the clothing out.

Thank you all! We were planning to do the same Sir William. Carry on formals and champagne! And the other important stuff.
We are also dressing up as much as possible. Don't get much chance for that here in Cali...everyone is so casual everywhere. Even if you are supposed to dress!

Looking forward to this cruise. Thanks for the responses!

ohhhh...... be still my heart!!! A man that actually likes to wear a tux!!! My husband will wear one but it's easier to get a 5 year old to eat broccoli! Feeling just a teeny bit jealous of your wife!

:)

Last cruise my carryon had all my dresses, the two pairs of comfy heels I brought, and my swimsuit and coverup. And my two bottles (it was Royal so that is what was allowed) of wine. That's it. :)

We like dressing up for the same reason. If you read amazon's career page you can read their views on dressing up even for your interview. If DH wears khakis his boss gets nervous. If he ever wore a suit his boss would have a coronary assuming a valuable team member was interviewing elsewhere.

Now DH won't wear a tux (he's a big guy and he has a fear of looking like a taller version of the Batman villain) but he likes a well-fitting, comfy, suit. Because he can't wear one up at home in WA!

Just a suggestion... I am a dry cleaner. I find it useful to leave the garment in a dry cleaning bag and if you can.. have tissue paper in between the clothing.
The garment might not need pressing when you arrive.

Wow, those prices really are quite reasonable considering you're on a ship, I've seen hotels charge double that easily! And thanks for the tip Laundress!!
