We have always fed our two kitties the Eukanuba indoor cat food. Is there anything out there that is as good or better for less money?

Iams has come out with a multi-cat house food. What about purina? I know they have come out with a natural line of food.

I have used Nutro and Science Diet in the past with other cats.

I have 3 at my house and they seem to really like the Iams multi cat.

I use Nutro Naturals usually. Sometimes I buy them Chicken Soup because they prefer the flavor but it is hard to find around here. The Chicken Soup brand is the most reasonably priced of all the better brands and has a good flavor (appearantly- I never tried it ;) )

When you are looking at food watch for two key words- "by-product" and "animal digest". If you see either term, in any form, listed in the ingredients, skip the food. The first 10-15 ingredients should be foods that you recognize. Things listed as "meal" are fine as long as not everything is "meal".

closely with vet.

Here is a link to the Chicken Soup ingredients... compare it to what you are currently feeding.

I agree. We feed Chicken Soup dry and Nutro canned/pouches.

The Chicken Soup is the best value for the ingredients, at least from what I can find here. I pay about $20 for I think it's an 18 lb bag.

I have seen the Chicken Soup brand, but never looked at it. Thanks.

Anyone else?

We feed our fosters Science Diet. Iams is good, but they seldom like it. Stay away from the cheap cat foods that have a lot of filler, such as corn. You can usually tell a good cat food from the poo. They generally have less (and less smell) with the good food.

My cat eats Meow mix and he is healthy and about 9 1/2 ys old. My sister's cat lived to be over 20 yrs on whatever brand of dry food was on sale when she went to the store! And he never went to the vet, was not sick in all those years. I think any name brand food is fine.
