Day 1 - The Journey

Me - Claire
DH - Neil

Up at 5:30am and got to the airport around 7am. We had checked in with Virgin the day before and headed to the bag drop, where we were approached by a virgin rep.

'Excuse me, the flight is overbooked, we are looking for 3 people to transfer to a Delta flight to New York and then internal flight from New York to Orlando, would you be willing to do this?'

At first I thought, does she think we are stupid but then she carried on talking 'business class with Delta and a free return flight with Virgin to anywhere in the world......'

Now let me think about that............'YES!', although DH was not too happy!!

So we were now on 'stand by' and given vouchers for a free breakfast and told to return at 9am.

Suitably refreshed, we returned at 9 to be told 2 people haven't turned up and we will be able to go on the virgin flight - BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Thankfully, they had kept out seats for us 61H & K.

Took off on time and the captain gave us an time of 8 hours - great!!!

Arrived early into MCO and immigration took a while but we were soon picking the bags up. Walked passed the 2nd bag drop and just carried on walking with our cases - hooray!!! One lady asked us on the monorail how we had managed to avoid giving our cases away!!! I should have said 'read the DIS boards - lol!!!!

Went for the car - Alamo packed, Dollar packed - Budget 2 people waiting - thank goodness we booked with budget.

We booked the cheapest car - 2 door economy and have got a 4 door Chevrolet HHR with only 1000 miles on the clock - pic to follow when I remember to take one.

Set off to our first destination - Doubletree Universal. Arrived here around 4:00 and the hotel is really nice.

Now the plan was to go to Halloween Horror night but we were really tired. However, we managed to find the energy to go but said we wouldnt stay too late. Had a couple of beers and stumbled across a house with a 10 min wait - compared to the others with 90 min wait!

The house was called 'The Thing - Assimilation' and was not very scary compared to the ones last year!!!

Bill and Ted show funny as always again not as good as last year!!

Too tired to keep my eyes open at this stage and caught the 10:15 shuttle bus back. Head hit the pillow and that was that.
