Drum Corp season "officially" starts for me tomorrow with the Toledo, Ohio show! I hear the Vanguard has an awesome show this year but the one I am most anxious to see is the Magic Of Orlando. They are doing music from POTC!!!!

I can't wait until the first corp steps off tomorrow.

So far I am going to be attending shows in Toledo, Plymouth, MI.,. Orlando, Murfreesboro, TN., and finals in Denver, CO!

Great summer shaping up!!

Any other Coro fans out there?

GO CADETS

I will be hitting the DeKalb show this weekend, as well as a few more local shows. I will also be in Denver for 1/4rs, semis and finals. Plus, the Cubs are playing the Rockies the day I get there, so I will catch most of the baseball game before I head over for finals!!!

Can't wait! Drum Corps is finally here!!!!!

Brisully,

Enjoy the DeKalb show!

It's going to be a great season!

I just checked the schedule, and it looks like the closest show to me this year is in Allentown, PA.

May have to make a road trip. :scratchin

One of my best friends just got into the Cadets this year, so i'm making a few trips to go see him.

Hey Pinnie,
I'll be at your show tomorrow night! What corp are you with and what do you play.

Last year we couldn't go and I sent my MIL with my DD. She really didn't want to go, but all she has talked about is going again this year and taking my FIL too! It's her birthday tomorrow and we are taking my IL's to celebrate!

AFR - The Allentown show is ALWAYS a great show to go see. Lots of good corps there.

I Love the Drum Corps!
DD and I go see them whenever we get the chance. My DD was in the colorguard with "Spirit of America" from Cape Cod, only for a year, but she still has many friends in SOA corps. They are leaving for their summer tour next week and I believe the will be in Kalamazoo, MI on the 10th of July for the DCI-Central Division Championships.

There are a few shows this summer with other local corps, the Boston Crusaders, The Spartans and East Coast Jazz, all which we've seen and are very good also!

Does anyone know if they will they be taping the shows and offering the videos for sale this year?

What a great time of the year! :sunny:

They always tape finals, and for the past few years, they put together a highlight show that airs on PBS, ususally around the middle of October. Also, DCI (Drum Corps International) sells the DVD of the top 12 corps, and the top 6 corps have multi angle view on them. So you can watch the Color Guard, or the Percussion, or the High Angle camera for instance.

But the great news this year is that in some participating Regal cinemas, they are going to broadcast the entire Quarterfinals, live from Denver. It is pretty cheap too. Here's a list of theaters playing the telecast:

Theaters

Look for me - I will be in the stands in Denver!!!!!

A Regal theater not far from us is participating. Very cool!! I'm going to add it to my calendar now!!

That's great DG! I saw the test of the technology last month in Lincolnshire, and while the video was cool, the sound was amazing. It should be a really great show at the theater, but it will be a little long. 5-7 hours.

 I didn't think of the time factor!! Not sure I'll be able to sit through ALL of that! LOL I'll give it my best try though--I think it is awesome they are doing this!

Bummer....the closest to me is 1 1/2 hour drive away...Too bad! :( I'll have to catch it on PBS, as we have in previous years! Thanks for all the info...will be looking forward to seeing all the corps and you Bri!!!

Have you heard of the Spirit of America from Orleans, MA.?
Ever seen them?

My DS called today to tell me "I am looking at 3 tickets for DCI Finals!". I will be going out Friday but we are only going to see the finals. We will be doing the parking lot warm up tour during the day.

Wow, I can't believe that there will be other Disers there. I am staying at the Adams MArk and will be having drinks there Friday night. Anyone want to meet up there for a cold one?

I don't march with any of the corps, but my DSs had a few friends that marched with the Madison Scouts.

Wasn't the show last night AWESOME? I really love the Cadets and can't believe how close the scores were between first and second place! .35!!!!!

I do like the Cav's show. Nothing like BOND!!!!

The weather last night was absolutely perfect for the show!

We will be at the Plymouth MI. show on Tuesday night and will see the Scout show for the first time!

We will be arriving in Denver on Wednesday and have tickets for all 3 nights of Finals. We are going to be staying at the Red Lion Inn right at the stadium. Doesn't get any better than that!

Would love to hook up with DCI Diser's in Denver!
