Drops

Tower of Terror is my all time favorite ride at any park! The theming is wonderful and the ride itself is a lot of fun. One time I met my sister at WDW and we went on ToT 13 times in 2 days at the park. Last visit I had my 4yo with us and we only went 5 times. I kept telling my 4yo that we needed a better ride photo. You need to give it a try--you won't know if you like it until you try it! At the very least go through the queue for the wonderful theming and then go the chicken exit.

Just a little reminder...I sat in the front for both Jurassic Park and Dudley and we left absolutely soaked. It took over 2 hours from Dudley to dry off, and it was hot!! It went right through my underwear! Anyways, I'm not complaining though, because we knew what we were getting onto when we went, and we were so hot, that it was a nice relief from the weather - just don't wear white (I learned my lesson).
The drops are not that bad, really. I went with someone who has an elevator phobea and a drop phobea, and she still got on all the rides and liked them all. In fact, we managed to get her back onto Dudley later on. The only one she wouldn't do was ToT in MGM - that phobea thing coming back. But, she did everything in IOA and USO, and said everything was great.
I say go for it then that way you can't regret it laer for not going on.

I am scared of drops too! I also seem to lose my breath 1/2way down. I would love to ride the coasters......I'm not afraid of spinning or turning upside down, but DON"T drop me!!!

In Feb I went on Jurassic Park with my 4yo and my sister. We sat in front and hardly got wet. In April I went with my DH and all my kids. Of course I knew to sit in the front so we wouldn't get too wet... HA! We got soaked!

My sister wants to pay the CMs at the ride and just stay riding until she is sick of the ride, however long that might be. Work for me!

13 is a special number or something there. They let me and a friend go through a backdoor and ride over and over until we reached it. We didn't actually get back in line.

I figured that you wouldn't be able to go through the queue all those times if you really went 13 times in an hour. OK, I want to know how I can do this??? What's the secret? It would make my sister's trip to be able to do this. Or I could do it with my DH when we are there in a couple weeks and my sister would be SO jealous (that's even better :teeth: ). I suppose you have to know somebody, huh?

Nope, no special connections. We just started chatting with the CM's and the fact that we already rode it 4 times in a row came up. They realized we liked the ride, they mentioned the number 13, and they let us ride until we reached it.

You are very lucky. You must be very good looking. LOL. That always helps. Unless the CM was just a very nice person. Well anyway i am happy for you.

Also it might have happened during the slow season. When there's no line, re-rides like that are fairly common.

I remember meeting these kids who rode Doctor Doom 40x in a row. There was no line and as soon as they were done, they hopped into the singles line to ride again.

Hmmm, I'll see what my sister and I can do when we are there. We'll leave my 81yo mom and my 4yo somewhere--I don't think they'd want to do this, even though my 4yo will probably refuse to be left behind. We're just goofy enough that they just might let us do this (I'm a BIT more shy, but my sister hardly has a shy bone in her body and is a real crack-up. Here is what she looks like  LOL

For ToT I don't think a person could go 13 times in an hour without using the back door since even without a line the preshow/ride must take more than 5 minutes. I'll time it when I'm there in 12 days (should have written this yesterday and I could have said we'd be there in 13 days).

BTW, we weren't aiming for the magic number 13 on our rides, we just tallied up how many times we'd gone on it and it just so happened it was my lucky number 13. :teeth:

LOL, and i am afraid of doing it once.
But i will do it. Maybe more than once so i can get used to the feeling.lol

Raggedy, many people have certain things that they are scared of. I'm not crazy about coaster that do the big climb and then down a big hill, especially if I don't have a shoulder restraint on. I'd prefer a looping coaster to the fear that I get going down the steep hill of some wooden coasters, etc.

I love the dropping sensation. Tower of Terror isn't scary to me because I don't feel like anything bad is going to happen being inside of the cage. Dr Doom scares me, but I love it.

Fear Fall is the only ride I ride on a regular basis that scares the hell out of me, but I still ride it.

LOL, are you trying to scare me??? too funny
