dropping a bib?

Our plan now is either wait it out or we are going to talk to a TA....or only I will be running the 5k. Again what he did years ago was YEARS ago. over 10 years ago. He is running the half marathon here in 2 weeks at disney and well it was more to help with his issues with work. We just trying to keep him motivated with issues with work and he thought i could do that easy...worst case is he won't run that weekend....but the other info about the TA and all is very helpful. This is the info I was looking for cause this upcoming run is his first run disney event let alone running like this again from over 10 years ago.
This issue - transferring bibs/buying other bibs - comes up a lot, especially since race registrations happen months in advance and like you said, people get injured. And they *did* used to have an official deferral policy, so I think some people remember that (see current thread discussing this, and how they will refund race registrations on a case-by-case basis - just to confuse people even more!) and think that 1. They still do deferrals, and 2. That since they did do deferrals, they'll also do transfers. I feel like they used to have some sort of waitlist they'd use, but assuming I didn't make that up - and it's very possible that I did - it's been years since they've offered something like that. I think they just don't want to bother anymore, and it's probably industry standard now to just not offer transfers (as others have pointed out that other major races don't do it).

Always a good discussion to re-visit so that people are clear on what runDisney will and will not do. :)

Well that stinks for people who can't run all the sudden.

But it's one of the things you agree to when signing up. Same with a variety of other races.

There is even a guy (am I allowed to post his name/website here?) who has an entire blog dedicated to finding race cheaters, and will post about people who run with someone else's bib.

The trick to seeing if you can mention something here is that you put in the whole URL. Then click More Options and Preview; if the URL appears with xxxxxx in it rather than the name before the .com, then you can't. Go back and take it out. And if you see that, you aren't supposed to use the name written out, etc. But if it shows up like this: https://www.marathoninvestigation.com/ then it's totally ok. :)
