Drop Sci Fi or Whisp Canyon?

I find this thread amusing. We're doing a grand gathering and each family is picking two ADR's. My family chose SciFi - which is a must do every time we get to the World - and WCC. It'll be our first trip to WCC. SciFi gets mixed reviews on some of their food, but we always do the burgers and the milkshakes which are perfect for the fifties drive-in theme.

Good luck in your decision !

Food is soooo personal!!! But I have to say - either way - you'll be at Disney :cool1:

KEEP SCI-FI! The experience is wonderful!!!! :cloud9: (Just order burgers. :thumbsup2)

I prefer Sci-Fi. We did not have a good meal or service at WCC.
If you want to try both, you could use WCC on the dining plan and pay OOP for Sci-Fi. The burgers and rueben are only a couple dollars more than you would pay at a counter service and it is a fun experience.

I've done sci-fi but not Whispering Canyon so I'd drop Sci-Fi. The food was really just average some even below that and both times I ate there the service wasn't so great. I'd go to Whispering Canyon just to check out the Wilderness Lodge, and the menu looks pretty good too.

Just to add to the fun...

I would stick with the Sci-Fi. The food is okay (but the milkshakes and apps are pretty good!), the atmosphere is great, and it really is an experience. We go every trip and the kids never get tired of it!

WCC food was also okay (nothing stood out for us), the atmosphere was hectic, and our kids were not impressed with the horse races. The one really good point for us at the WCC was there were things to entertain the kids while waiting.

Good luck with your choice! I hope you have lots of fun (and good food) whichever you chose!

The food is OK to good at both places, nothing to write home about.

I prefer Sci-fi in terms of atmosphere, WCC is kind of chaotic.

We won't return to WCC, but will eat at Sci-Fi again, the restaurant is just too cool and if you stick to burgers, onion rings, and shakes it doesn't disappoint.

My family loves Sci-Fi and WCC.

Keep em both.

If you are on the dining plan, Sci-Fi is much more affordable if you need to pay OOP, or you could order only shakes (and/or appetizers) just to experience the place. The clips are fun, and it's an oasis of coolness amid the asphalt of DHS. The bad reviews are based on unrealistic expectations. As a burgers and shakes meal, it's perfectly fine.

Here's the big secret: it's quieter than most WDW restaurants. :ssst: All of the kids are engrossed in the clips onscreen. Narcoosee's was louder IMO, and WCC is a veritable rock concert by comparison.

I love any and all BBQ, so the skillet at WCC is great. We don't really care to get caught up in the antics, but they are fun to watch.

If it were me, I'd drop WCC. The food seems fine. I'm just not a fan of "restaurant-antics", so I will never eat there or at '50's Primetime.

Really, what's the deal with the chocolate milkshakes at WCC? I mean, they're undrinkable. How do you mess up a chocolate milkshake? Food was fine.

While SciFi is not the greatest food, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there last September. You could NOT pay us to go back to WCC -- horrible, greasy food and lousy service. I would definitely keep SciFi and drop WCC.
