Drop off luggage/return rental?

Is it possible to drop off our luggage and all four of us return the rental car to Budget, then take the Budget shuttle back to the port?

I realized I made the Budget reservations in my name, with my credit card. So it's either we all go to return the car or maybe Budget would just let my husband return the rental even if it's not in his name. I'd hate to have to drag all our bags to the rental place and onto a shuttle.

Please, don't suggest I let my DH check us in at the port. Like I'd REALLY trust him to do THAT!!

If DH is listed as an authorized driver of the car, I don't think it will make a bit of difference to the rental company. Even if he is not, they'll be happy to have the car returned and as long as *someone* signs for it, I bet nobody will even notice.

We just did the rental car thing last week and everything went smoothly (because Disney is so helpful). My husband dropped my daughter and I off at the port with our luggage, which was promptly checked by the porter. He then went to return the rental car at Avis and we went to stand in line for check in. We were not allowed into the terminal to around 10:30 am - Disney checked our driver's licenses and matched them to to their list. The lady was nice enough to explain that my DH would only need to show his license again, once the rental car shuttle brought him back to port. My daughter and I had already checked in and gottern our Key to the World Cards. My husband went to the front of the counter and showed his ID and they immediately gave him his KTTW card. The line to board was already quite long when he got back, but since we had gotten there early - he just joined us.

ON return we just did the reverse.
It was great!!

Thanks, Brett...I was afraid they would give him a hard time and he'd have to come back and get me! Can you tell I'm really FREAKING OUT??!!!

Hey..do you have your own little DIS meeting going on?? There's a ton of us who have been emailing for months now! When are you guys meeting? Our group is meeting Sunday, 3:00, promenade lounge.

I usually do all of the rentals in my name. DH usually returns the car while I check all of us in. The credit card is run when you pick it up, so there should be no problem.
