drop off fee?

We will be flying into Tampa and going to Busch Gardens before we visit Orlando. We will be flying out of Orlando. We are renting out car through Dollar. Does anybody know if or what the drop off fee will be? Would it be better to call Dollar itself or the branch in Orlando to find out?

In Florida, you are normally not charged a drop off fee. (I seem to recall it is some kind of state law). However, some of the cheaper rates will not be availalbe for renting in one city and returning in the other.

I just checked into this for picking up a car from the Dolphin, and droping it in Ft Meyers. There was a 40 drop off fee included in the quote because of the 2 seperate locations. Our plans fell thru and we don't need it now, but it was pretty expensive as I was only needing the car for about 4 hours to get from point A to B. The total was going to be $80. $20 an hour is steep!

I would call the location where you sign the paperwork. Also it wouldn't hurt to call the 800 number.
