Drop off areas at Disney Springs

My parents are going to visit Disney for the first time and I'm worried about my dad. He can walk very short distances before having to sit and rest. My parents are interested in having lunch at Disney Springs one day. Is there a place where my mom can drop my dad off before heading to the parking garage? I think they might go to WPE so I was looking for a drop off place in the Marketplace area. TIA!

Right now there are no drop off areas in the Marketplace area. They are building a second garage over there, but it still has a ways to go. At present, your Mom can drop your Dad off in the existing garage (by the movie theater) or over by Cirque du Soleil. It will be quite a walk over to the Marketplace from either location, with the garage being slightly closer. There is also a large hill to climb from the theater area over what was once Pleasure Island.

Honestly, and as the child of an elderly parent who has mobility issues, I would advise against them going if they want to go to the Marketplace side. If they want to stay on the theater/Splitsville/Cirque side they should be fine. There is a Wolfgang Puck on that side as well, although it is not as large as the Marketplace version. They could also go to Bongos, House of Blues the full-service Wolfgang Puck restaurant or Splitsville.

I was afraid of this. With all the construction going on, I didn't think there was a drop off area. Thank you for the info!

Will they be staying on property? If so, the bus stop is on the Marketplace side and is very close to that Wolfgang Puck Express.

They are trying out one of their time share resorts so they will be off property. I'm trying to talk my dad into renting a wheelchair for the trip. I think he's a little embarrassed to do that. I don't think he will be able to do much without one.

If you park over by Cirque Du Soleil and want to get closer to the marketplace without walking you can take the boat across the water. It'll put you out close to the express location.

Or you can go to the Wolfgang Puck restaurant which the parking garage is right by

I didn't think of the boats. That could be fun for him. Thanks for the idea!
