Can anyone report on the viewing experience from SSR? I have a short stay booked this summer and I wouldn't mind catching the late showing and then being able to stroll back to my room without fighting the crowds at Disney Springs.

I am also interested in hearing about any experiences as we have a split stay coming up beginning with SSR.

If staying at SSR, it's actually pretty easy to see the drone show from the Disney Springs side - just stroll over the bridge from the Carriage House to the Springs' west side, find a nice spot in the big grass section next to House of Blues and Cirque - you get a nice frontal view of the show plus the music, then when the crowd rush for the exits, you just head the opposite direction over the bridge back to SSR and to your room.

The view from Saratoga is not bad at all - but you're looking at the show in a mirror - all the words are backwards, and a part of the show from Disney Springs is all the beam lighting and building lighting AT Saratoga, so you won't get that part of the show or the music from the SSR side (you can sometimes hear the music coming over the lake, but spotty and faint).

Here are a couple minutes of the drone show from Saratoga Springs. The audio here is about what you would hear in person. Yes, it is muffled. The faint buzzing sound is the hundreds of drones.

I'm sure it's much better from Disney Springs. But if you're staying at SSR and want to avoid the hassle of walking over, I would certainly recommend doing this. Especially the second show. If you don't mind a few seconds of trial and error, bring some headphones and queue up a video from YouTube taken from the Springs side with better audio. Play the soundtrack thru your headphones. Yes the images will be reversed. I think the only lettering that's backward is at the very end of the show when it has a "Disney Dreams that Soar" title card.

Watching from SSR can be a huge time saver vs walking to DS early to hold a spot, then back after the show. Well worth the minor imperfections, IMO.
