HELP!!!!!!!

Pros/Cons?

I went to the Verizon store because my stupid Blackberry and since it keeps malfunctioning I get to replace it with another phone . I reserved a Droid 2 but one of the sales guys had a Droid X and that was really cool too. It only had a virtual keyboard but the screen was so nice. How do you like your virtual keyboard on any phone????

DH got rid of his Droid 2 to get the Droid X. He loves it and says it is so much better than the Droid 2. He loves the keyboard and really everything about it!

Are you sure he had the Droid 2? It hasn't actually come out yet. It comes out tomorrow.

The limited edition R2-D2 themed Droid 2 comes out in September, and even though I intended to get the Droid X I am really tempted to get the R2 instead.

OP, I haven't heard much about the Droid 2 yet but everyone I know who has the Droid X loves it. I have the Droid and even though I do use the real keyboard most of the time, I've been pleased with the virtual keyboards. They take a little getting used to but seem to work well after you've had them for a while.

Sorry, that's what happens when I post late at night!:lmao:

I asked DH and he said he had the regular Droid. The Droid 2 is just a newer version of the old Droid. The Droid X is still better, in his opinion. The screen is bigger and he prefers the touch screen keyboard. The Droid 2 still has the regular keyboard as well and he doesn't like that. He just rambled a bunch of other stuff to me on the phone that just went right over my head and I already forgot what he said!:rotfl: Sorry!

I know the feeling-the guy at the store yesterday was doing the same thing :lmao:

I've had an iphone for two years (after having 3 Treos). I lost it last week. My contract is expiring with AT&T so I have a DroidX on order. I just mainly wanted to get away from AT&T. I had so many dropped calls with the iphone2 - just can't imagine how much worse the 4 would be.

*Just* switched from a BB Storm 2 to a Droid X. Came in yesterday, and I took it to Verizon to activate it and get help setting up my local email. I also wanted a case and screen protector. We had a hard time getting my email set up, so I was really frustrated when I got home that night. And I was having a hard time getting my ringtones on the phone and then choosing them as contact ringtones because they weren't showing up in the list.

So, today I went back to the store and another employee had an email from my local provider that had the settings we needed and we were able to get the email issue cleared up. Then we played around with the ringtones and figured out that once I downloaded the ringtone, set it as my phone ringtone, then it would show up in my ringtone list to choose for a contact. It should be easier than that, but it's not. At least we figured it out.

Love the screen protector as it's anti-glare. I got the prism-looking cover for it, and I really like it.

So, one day in, I'm still getting used to the swich from a BB to Droid, but it's getting easier and easier. Yes, it's bigger than my Storm 2, but the size really doesn't bother me. I love not having to actually press down on the screen when I type. I am texting much faster.

I went from an Alias to the Storm, so it took some time to get used to a virtual keyboard, but now that I use it, I really don't miss a keyboard.

Big bonus - I can take pictures of my checks to deposit them with USAA instead of having to scan them into the computer. Can't wait to try that out!

I LOVE my droid X! I didn't think I'd like the touch screen keyboard, but it's really nice.

We have sprint and just trying to get a regular droid you can't get them. I didn't even know about a droid x? Crap, I am just still trying to score the first thing.

Droid X is on Verizon. The Droids on Sprint are the Evo (similar to X), Hero, Moment, Epic and iI.

DD15 has the HTC Hero, the first generation Sprint Android phone. I'm debating between taking that from her and getting her some thing different or going with the EVO, provided I could even get one. THen I got a message today f rom SPrint (Premier member) that I can preorder the Samsung Epic today and it will be waiting for me on 8/31. It has a real slide out keyboard as well as virtual, but I'm scared of the Samsungs

ETA, oh yeah, the Epic will cost me $50 more than the EVO as well, $249 after rebate as opposed to $199 for the EVO, plus the extra $10 per month data plan

Well, I went to look at the Droid 2 and it really isn't much different then the original Droid, smoother edges and a better keyboard. I kept going back and forth between the 2 and the X because I really wanted to buy it in the store since the franchise owner is someone we know and we like to support our local stores but he said that since supply isn't keeping up with demand he would order it online, so I did. I have my name on their waiting list so if one comes in before mine ships I will get it at the store. The larger screen on the X won out.

Well, after calling around trying to find the EVO I went ahead and took advantage of the "Premier" perk and reserved the Samsung Epic, the camera is only a 5MP as opposed to the EVOs 8MP, but I may be happier with a real keyboard, I know I have trouble with DDs virtual keyboard and fingernails. I can always refuse it when it comes time to pick it up at the store, no money has changed hands. And in the meantime if an EVO comes in..... :)

One of the main rasons I'm doing this is the thought of a Marching Band bus trip (chaparone) to Universal over Christmas, I will need something to occupy my time and the screen on my BlackBerry gives me eyestrain after looking at it for too mong....
