:cool1:My daughter will be driving for the 1st time in the US, how easy, and safe is it, we will only use the car to and from airport, shopping, and Universal. We have a good map.Any advice please.:)

Its easy! Just remember to stay on the 'other' side and you'll be fine.

The sign posts and roads are much easier than in the UK. :thumbsup2

Driving is easy, if you can get the sat nav, takes the stress of your passengers:)

But it is easy and much better than the UK.

As the thing that seems to worry most people is finding themselves driving on the wrong side of the road-the best tip I had was to remember that the driver is always closer to the center of the road than the passenger.

I wouldn't recomend the drive to universal as it can be pretty mad when you get closer to the park, unless she is really confident that is. best thing to do is take a drive around disney just to get your bearings that was what i did the first time i drove there a few years ago. It' also so easy to find your way around as well, so not alot of chance of getting lost.

Have a look here for great driving advice, also includes maps and video drives, airport routes etc

In the site Netty posted the link to above, they do a comprehensive route planner from MCO to various points around the area, including pictures. I studied it before we went in 2007 and it was amazing how much easier it made the drive from the airport.

Google street view is another good one for that. I spent the weekend before we left 'driving' around Orlando. It may be controversial but it has it's uses. :thumbsup2

oh yeah another thing remember under taking isn't illegal there, so you will get passed on both sides which can take you by surprise.

Also you can turnright on a red light, unless there is a sign saying you can't
