Hi All,

I've driven down to Disney twice via the I77/I79 route, but this time we are planning on doing it with our 20 month old son.

He's generally good in the car, but this is a LONG drive, and we will be stopping.

The plan is to drive all day and stop every couple of hours for a run around play time and eat. If I can help it, I don't want to drive during the night (past say 9 or 10pm.) We are planning on stopping in North Carolina for the night at our normal Holiday Inn Select.

I don't have a car DVD system, but if it's going to make a huge difference, I'll get one.

Anybody have any tips or suggestions?

We started taking our kids at the age of about 8 months and we now have no problems at all with them in the car even our 2 year old loves to go for the drive. No DVD player or tv required just some travel games and colouring books we don't even get the how much longer only an occasional can we please stop I have to go to the washroom but even those are few and far between.

Hello!

Our kids are 16 (he's been going since 1) & our daughter is 11 1/2 she's been going since 4 mos old.
We drive twice yearly from MA-MCO.
Stopping in St Augustine for a couple days before WDW
(lovely city)! :cool1:

We are going back next month for April Vacation.
You should take turns sitting in the back seat, wall mart or one of the shopping channels have great sales on the DVD's, we just bought one for Feb trip. We stop along the way for stretches, but try to get to FL asap!
;-)

Don't put off your vacation for your kids, kids are great, they will adjust and you won't have to wait* until they are old enough-I don't believe in waiting until a kid is a teen ager to go to FL or WDW, too many people wait too long then their kids aren't interested (friends have done this) and they make the trip down miserable.
You'll have a great time.
Get either a tv/dvd and some snacks and maybe some coloring w/tray.
You will enjoy your trip and so won't your child.

Have fun and ENJOY!!!
