Can someone tell me why it is necessary to come to a full and complete stop while making a right hand turn at a green light? I am seeing this EVERYWHERE lately and it's driving me nuts (no pun intended :teeth: ).

PS - I'm not talking about big rigs...I'm talking about people driving regular cars!

Frustrating, isn't it.

What's been driving me nuts lately are people in the left lane at a red light in front of you - light turns green, they pull up a little bit and then decide to put their turn signal on. UGH!

Plus around here, no one seems to understand the concept of a STOP sign.

I have never seen the complete stop before right turn thing, so really cannot comment. But I do slow down to VERY slow while turning right. It's a habit, ever since I saw a young kid on a bike get hit by a car. He really came out of nowhere, didn't get off the bike to walk it across, and came out so fast that the right-turning car didn't have time to stop. I'd rather people drive ridiculously cautiously, than too-fast-and carelessly.

Oh, and I have seen cars do that ALMOST complete stop before turn, if another car had been tailgating. Heck, my dad tells me that if someone is tailing him, he'll stop at a light that is JUST turning yellow.
