Driving Toronto to Orlando DEC 20th - advice

So the trip is pretty much planned until my Dad called with concern that we were driving.

Question is .. Weather. What are the chances of running into foul weather on this trip? Any advice on route or anyone who has done this trip in december would be appreciated.
