We are planning on driving down to WDW for the first time (driving) from CT. Are there any threads covering this or any help you all can offer thanks

Hop on down to the Transportation board. Ther was a thread going there about driving from CT.

Just checked. It's currently on page 2 at Transportation.

Hello! Well I have driven down here from Mass., so I think I can give you some good advice. Basically it is very simple, you take I-95 down the entire way, then get onto I-4 around Daytona, stay on that for about an hour, disney world would be exit 67. Trouble spots are NYC and DC. When going through NYC, I'd go around, take 287 to the Tappanzee bridge, that will save you a boatload of hassle there. Now New Jersey is terrible, as every 5 miles there is a toll, but there really is no way to avoid that, you are best taking the Garden State Parkway to the New Jersey Turnpike., over the Delaware Memorial Bridge, then back onto 95. Going through DC, basically just make sure you stay on 95 south, (right lanes). You will need about $20-$25 dollars for tolls, but most of that is New Jersey and New York. It isn't a bad drive at all though, and it took me 24 hours, including lunch breaks, etc. and did it in 2 easy 12 hour days, so it should take you a little less. Good luck and let me know if I can be of more help!! If you want to take your time, route 1 follows down the coast, and offers some great scenic travels!

I drove in December and April. The drive was not bad at all! We were quite surprised. If you are driving with kids and you don't have a tv in your car buy one! It makes a huge difference!
