Does anyone know a short cut or alternate route driving from Panama City Beach to Orlando (Universal area). We usually go down I-75 to I-4 (I think)

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Go East on I-10 then south on I-75

Just south of Ocala take the FL Turnpike (toll road have change) right to Orlando

Thanks for the info. We will try that way. Do you know what the toll is and how many tolls there are? I like to be prepared.

Without knowing for sure (I use SunPass, so really dont pay attention), I would think it would be less than $10 for sure. But considering the time/mileage it saves you, it is definitely better than taking I-75 to I-4 in Tampa. I would estimate it saves you anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half.

We are in south GA. This is our route to Disney - Not Universal so it could be a bit more.

I-75 South to Turnpike
At the first Toll you pay $2.50 for car
Go east on Toll road and exit at 429
Exit 429 at Western Way but while on that road there is a toll for $1

I don't know how much it is once you get off at I-4 but there wouldn't be any tolls on I4 so maybe it will come out about the same as what we pay.

I'm A local and yes this is the best route.A 1/2mile pass the Wildwood exit is the turnpike so keep to your left.Once your on the turnpike the tolls are $2.50 and its only 40minutes or so depending on traffic. You will get off on I-4 east(JUst follow the signs they are well marked):thumbsup2
