Does anyone know if you can drive to another hotel and park for dinner. If so how long can you stay parked there?:goodvibes

We always drive to different resorts during our stay and were never told there was a time limit. We've been to the Contemporary, Polynesian and Animal Kingdom lodge to name a few.

We've never had to pay - but we are Vacation Club members so I don't know if that makes a difference. You just let security know that you are eating at the restaurant and they direct you to the self parking lot.

The monorail resorts will generally give you a 3-hour pass to park for your meal. I know some posters report that's not the case, but that's an exception to the rule. Unfortunately, some guests try to park at the monorail resorts and go off to the MK for the day. That practice makes it difficult for guests at the Poly and Contemporary to find parking at their own resort.

Some resorts (usually those within walking or monorail distance from a theme park) may give you a timed parking pass (in an attempt to prevent guests from using the resorts as free unlimited parking for the Magic Kingdom or Epcot, for example).

When we were there in June, I specifically asked about parking at the Poly for breakfast and leaving the car there and heading to the MK. I was told by the CM at the front desk of OKW that as long as we had the parking pass that they gave us in the window of the car, it would be OK. This is one of the perks of staying on property they said.

It was really great to be able to do that. It was our first time renting a car and we will do if for every trip now. It was wonderful...

OK, done babbling.

We drove back in July. We had valet parking at the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's and we were told that we could leave our car and go over to MK. We were also told at the Grand Floridian that we could do the same and we did with no issues.

Readers should note that this does not mean you will be able to plan to park all day at the Polynesian at all times. Occasionally they DO give out timed parking passes. It's possible this is done only during crowded times when everyone is trying to get to the MK and the resorts are fully booked with guests who need parking, but it HAS been done.

Everytime we've driven to the GF, Poly, or CR for breakfast or dinner the security guard has given us a 3 hour parking pass and told us that it is for use while we were eating. At AKL they just checked our ID and told us where to park.
