Driving to Parks from Off-Site

We're staying off-site and I've read that it's a hassle to park at MK because the lot is so far away from the entrance (park at lot; tram to TTC; monorail to entrance). I was thinking that on our MK day, I'd park at Epcot -- can we just park there and hop right on the monorail to MK? Would that be quicker than parking at MK? I know my boys (5 and 3) would love the monorail ride anyway.

I'm led to believe that the parking lots for AK and MGM are smaller and more accessible, so for those parks, I was planning on parking right there. We may still park-hop a bit on those days, but we can always make our way back to AK or MGM.

The Epcot monorail does not go to MK. You still have to switch monorails at TTC. I don't think your plan would really help much.

It's really not so bad. But, we do arrive early, so we don't always park so far away.

Think of it this way, it just adds to the anticipation of the MK experience.

My kids consider the tram just another ride, one you don't get on unless you park. Can you tell I'm the master of "spin" in our house?

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure the boys will love the tram and the monorail as much as any other ride. I didn't mention that we're also bringing our 5month old baby. So my attempt was really to minimize the number of times we will need to fold/unfold the stroller.

In any event, we plan to be at each park at or before opening, so I think we'll be able to park reasonably close to either the park or the TTC.

We spent 9 days at the parks last Thanksgiving, and by arriving a little before park opening time, we never needed to ride the tram at any park. Even when they were running the trams out to the parking lot where we were, we'd just walk becaue I hate unloading our stuff from the stroller and folding it to ride the tram. Usually, by the time the tram would get loaded, we found that it either arrived at the same time or slightly after we did by walking. We even walked from the MK parking lot to the TTC. It's a small amount of walking compared to what you'll be doing the rest of the day, and it saved so much hassle in not folding the stroller!
