Driving to parks for RD when to leave resort

We have not rented a car at WDW for many years but will have one next month. We are staying at ASMu then AKL. Normally we get to the bus stop at 8:15 for a 9:00 opening, which gets us to the entrance usually just in time. What time would you leave ASMu/AKV to get to the parks just before they open? We don't care about being toward the back of the throngs at opening. We will take the bus to MK. I'm wondering how much time we will actually save by driving. .......

Thanks that's what I was thinking. That will save us 15 minutes. .......I think we might save a bit more time leaving after Fantasmic and Illuminations.

We drove for the first time this summer. It was fine, but to be completely honest, it took us at least as long, if not longer, to get back to our car than waiting for a bus ever took.
