Driving to Myrtle Beach, which route, which border? Detroit or Buffalo?

We are going at the end of March and do not need to drive near Washington Dc.

Cross at which ever border is closest to you. You do not need to travel near Washington driving either route.

Both borders are about 2 hours from me, but time-wise I haven't noticed much difference. I have found that if you cross the border at Detroit early on a weekday morning (before 7am) most times I zip right on through with no wait times. So that's the way I usually go. Once you're across the border regardless of where you cross, the rest is easy. You just have to check ahead of time to see where highway construction takes place. THAT to me is what can affect which route to take.
