Driving to HH from Pgh. - hotel suggestion!

We're looking for a stop over point about 8 or 9 hours from Pgh. Is there anyone out there who has driven from Pgh. I think HH is about 12 hrs. from us. We don't want to drive straight thru. Any suggestions? Thanks

We stay at a Holiday Inn Express in Rock Hill, SC..

That way you don't have to fighy AM traffic through Charolette the next morning.

How long to HH from there - we were thinking maybe Columbia, SC.

Rock Hill to HHI is about 4 hours.

Charlotte is about 8 hours from Pittsburgh, and the Ballantyne Resort is spectacular. The summer promotion with bed and breakfast for two is great...in fact that's where we're staying on our way to HH from PGH at the end of July. We've stayed at Ballantyne before and highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet is spectacular!!!!!!!Very high-end selections...I think it is priced @ $29.95 per person regularly. And worth it!!!
