I'm just trying to work out money for my competition trip to DLP in November.

How much will it cost in petrol roughly driving to DLP?

Being that the car is a ford galaxy im expecting it to eat the petrol rather quickly, then again i don't drive so what would I know:lmao:

Emma

Have I missed something - I thought you weren't going again until January and now I see you are going again in November - how did you win the trip??!! Congratulations anyway and I'll get another trip report to read before I go in January!!!

Emma, would that not be included with the prize????:confused3

and is it defo petrol and not diesel?

Sweetpea, i entered a competition with Ford and won a trip to Disney for 2 nights 3 days in November :)

Reid, it can't be right that it will only cost 32Euros from my house to DLP in petrol, thats like cheap? I was thinking more like 70-80 euros each way. (not including tolls)

No we get a full tank in the car but then we obv need to pay the extra to get us there and back.

Petrol and Deisel same thing are they not?

Definitely not... They're 2 very different types of fuel. Fill up with the wrong one and you could have big problems...

I'm afraid I'm not sure on the cost in fuel, especially as it depends on things like the fuel economy of the Galaxy (probably not too good as I believe it's a people carrier isn't it?)...

Yes it is a people carrier.

If anyone has a rough price it be great because 52euros with tolls each way seems to cheap.

Hi thelittlemermaid83,

When we drove in september we spent about £150 in total in petrol BUT £50 of that was from where we live which is in Devon so you will be looking at about £100 or there abouts (excluding tolls)...this was in a Vauxhall Zafira which is also a people carrier.

The comp you won comes with a tank of fuel so that should get you there at least. The Galazy is slightly better than the vauxhall at petrol so shouldn't drink it as quick.

Hope this helps.

Was that £100 there and back or just there.

We have a large people carrier/van (7 seats). It has a 3.2 diesel engine.

It's a 6 hour drive (3hs to the tunnel, and 3 the other side).

We use a full tank (approx £80 each way).

Could probably use less if we drove a little slower, but it's hard, especially on the way there ;)

Tolls are approx 20 euros each way.

Congrats on the prize!! That's so amazing! Your daughter is a little doll by the way. Those photos in your sig are precious. :cloud9:

Surely they'll give you some kind of compensation for filling up the tank a second time? Ask them maybe. It doesn't seem right that the prize includes use of the car without them covering the petrol.

Petrol and Deisel same thing are they not?

Back away slowly from the petrol pump.... :lmao: Just kidding! (But no definitely not the same!!)

Have a blast!! :woohoo:

We have to refill up the car, which really isnt too much hassle seeing what i have won.

I'm not bothered about paying for the fuel, i just wanted a rough idea on how much it will be.

Hey well done on winning :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We've got a Citroen Picasso and costs around £45 to the tank and a full tank gets us to Disney from Calais, tolls are around £17 each way so just over £100 for us to get there and back :thumbsup2

Just found the receipts for petrol using our car from our recent visit (keep them to put through business)

Was exactly £50 each way using our Zafira 7 seater, 1.6 litre (petrol).

i echo the same - would expect £100 to easily cover u there and back !
we have a diesel, so bit more pricey but good economy, and easily a tank full wud get u there!!
