We're flying into LAX on Mar 4 and flying out of SNA on Mar 7. I can rent a car at about the same price as towncar transportation. Would that be a wise move? How is parking at the GC? Thanks for any input,

Karen, are you planning on going anywhere offsite? If NOT then I don't recommend getting a car, you won't need it. If you do then getting the car makes sense. :)

Parking is across the street and probably included in your resort fee. You can also valet park for an added fee.

Michelle I thought by renting a car, I'd be able to travel on my schedule, not the towncar's. Do they pick you up 2 hours+ before your flight like they do at WDW?
Dave I'm staying on DVC points, so I don't know if that includes the resort fee.
Thanks for the info.

Karen, you can have the town car service pick you up whenever you'd like, just keep in mind the travel time (45-90 minutes depending upon traffic) and the time to deal with check-in and security at LAX. Most of them will pick you up 2 1/2 -3 hours in advance, actually, depending upon the time of day your return flight is. It's MUCH simpler to have a town car drop you off at LAX than deal with the added time of a rental car return. :)

We're flying into LAX and out of SNA (on our way to Hawaii), Michelle. Do you know how the check-in time is at SNA?

Oh, lucky you! :)

Although SNA is a much smaller airport I've actually run into LONGER security lines there than at LAX just because they have fewer screeners. It's not bad unless you're flying during peak times, though, which is early morning at that airport. That's when all the business travelers are there.

Have a great time! :)

I've decided to use the towncar from LAX to GC. I got a quote of $68. Does that sound reasonable?

IMHO it sounds reasonable. We got a car when we went in October - DH needed it for the convention he was attending - and it was a hassle to deal with. Parking (we were offsite) was difficult. Have fun! :)
