Driving to Disneyland paris

This is identical to us! Even down to going from near Swindon!!! We go eurotunnel in Winter and sometimes pick up a bargain ferry crossing for £38 return in the nicer weather.

Spooky, I suspect that we even have quite similar names!

We use Tesco vouchers for the Eurotunnel and like the speed of the crossing and the fact that if you get there early, you can usually get on an earlier train. We do most of our booze shopping in hypermarkets/supermarkets in the Disneyland area (we stay off-site) and Calais and use the tax free shop for their best offers.

It's a good point about the price of diesel and we usually find that Auchan at the Val d'Europe is the cheapest place for diesel.

We have driven to France a couple of times (from Liverpool) always using the ferry, the tunnel just doesn't appeal to us at all despite the time saving. My husband loves driving in France, the roads are generally in better condition than ours and driving just never feels stressful (except for the Periphique - OMG need a stiff drink after getting around that). We use a Tomtom and a French atlas as back-up, and never had any difficulties.

The AA website has some pages covering driving tips (sorry I'm too new to post links), and the compulsory items you need to carry. Remember your hi-vis vests need to be accessible from your seat - don't put them in the boot. You need to carry your insurance papers, your photocard licence and paper counterpart, and vehicle registration (V5c) documents also.
