Driving to Disney: good or bad?

I am very sorry to say, that till now I had not manage free time to go to Disney World. My brother's daughter and son, sometimes says about the wonderland. I think that's really a fantastic world. I will definitely go one day.

We normally drive from Ottawa except for our past trip and this one. I found out that if you cross the border airfare are much cheaper. I'm travelling alone with my daughters at the end of the month and could find airfare from Syracuse for less then $200 each return trip. So to us it's worth to drive 3 hours and take the plane. It's actually cheaper then driving with my van

what about getting a cheap dvd player at walmart for something like $30. The last time we drove, we brought my younger sibblings and brought their play station and connected it to the tv system that I bought at walmart ($80) and they played while we drove and yes we did drive 24 hours straight. We only stopped to grab fast food ( we eat in the car)and use the bathroom. It took us 25 hours to get there.

My always drive to WDW. It's a 11-12 hour drive for us. We drive straight through, switching drivers between me & DH. We leave in the evening & drive all night. we usually get there 6-8 am. We hit a park as soon as we get there & get our KTTW card. We take DVD players, Ipods, laptop, PSP's, game boys, & books for entertainment. We take turns sleeping too

I'm leaving today to drive from Mass. It is a 24 hour drive for us too.

I don't think I'll be too bored. Mostly because I have a research paper to read and do a report on, 2 documents to review for a software project, an hour and 1/2 lecture that I downloaded and need to watch for class, and the materials for a test I have to take to study.

Then on top of that we have the fun stuff, between my husband and I we have the kindle, a psp, ds, ipod, zune, and our laptop.

We should be able to manage without too much boredom.

Good luck to you, your husband, and the rest of the family on your very long driving trip to and from WDW.

Did you decide to fly back and forth midweek to take your test?

I have made the drive from NY/NJ area, as well as a little further south. I also made my last trip with the Auto Train. You would drive to Lorton, Virginia board the train with your car, then ride all night and arrive in Sanford, Florida in the morning. You have your car, and you aren't driving all the way. Might be an option to look into. Amtrak runs the train.

OMG!!! How do you last that long? i can barely stand the 6 hour plane trip from Oregon to Orlando. You are strong. But seriously, going on an airplane is WAY faster and more comfy in my opinion. But it all depends on your family and what-not

You are super brave! I've never driven to Disney; always plane. I could never do that! I barley last for 12 hours on our way to the Disney resort in Hilton Head! For more than 3 hour drives, I norm put a couple of movies on my ipod! Makes the time fly by!
