This year my husband and I are driving down to Disney and not staying on Disney property so we will be driving to the parks everyday, we plan on staying in Kissimmee. Are there any roads that we should steer clear of? Or try to avoid when heading to the park? Or does anyone have any tips for first time drivers to Disney?

Any advice would help! Thanks!!! :)

Don't get on I-4. Ever. Tell us where your staying an we can find alternatives.

Where you're staying I would just go up Apopka Vineland rd(535),if you wanted to go to Downtown Disney you could just go under the I-4 overpass and turn left at Hotel Plaza blvd which becomes Buena Vista dr which goes by DTD and by just staying on Buena Vista blvd by following the signs will lead you everywhere in the resort.I would however avoid the Hotel Plaza blvd entrance at peak times like a Friday night or a holiday as it can get really backed up.An even better option is to turn left at World Center dr (536) from Apopka Vineland rd(535),this road becomes Epcot center dr but will also give you access to the entire resort as you can get off at Buena Vista dr or World dr both of which can get you to any of the parks, waterparks or DTD.The International Drive someone mentioned earlier is the main part of International Dr by Sea World,Universal and the convention center which can definitely get insane traffic at night, there's another road called International Drive south which is close to 192 and your location by Poinciana blvd but this road is pretty empty as it might be a future connection to the main part of International dr which ends at 536 and can be accessed from 535 (Apopka Vineland)by turning right instead of turning left to get to Disney.

I-4 really isn't bad at all. I always drive it & take Exit 62.

I would not go on I-Drive, ever. Its a horrible road, with horrible traffic. Either walk it or take the trolley.
