I am driving with my hubby and four kids (ages 10,8,5 and 5) to Disneyworld from Michigan on November 26. I need advice from anyone who has done this drive, or a similiar route, about the best way to go, any places to avoid, best place to stop overnight to break up the trip, what weather we might encounter along the way, etc. Also any unique ideas for keeping four kids entertained? We bring the usual movies, coloring, snacks, etc. but I'm wondering if anyone has found something different that worked for them. One last thing.... we will be staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort and would love to hear about anyone else's experiences there, good or bad. Thanks!! :wave2:

No one on here has driven from MI to WDW?! If you have please let me know the route you took. Also if any one has stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort let me know what you thought.... Thanks!!

Hey I havent driven that route, but you may want to post this question on the Orlando hotels board. You may get more reviews of the hotel there. It is an off site hotel right?

Don't listen to them go your way. :Pinkbounc

I can't help you with your drive, but we stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort last month and last November. Go to their website and register for the Diamond Lane check in. (faster service) there you can put in requests as to which area you would like.
There are newer units and older units. We stayed in the Cascades last month, it is the newest and I think most convenient to general store/close to pool/ and food. (It was only 4 adults and we weren't there most of the time) Although it was newer it was smaller than last November when we stayed in the Fountains.
The units in the Fountains were quite a bit bigger. Especially noted in the Kitchen and guest bathroom. I believe if you booked through a timeshare that does not include housekeeping they will give you a packet of coffee/filter, automatic dishwasher detergent, towels, etc to get you started then you have to buy those things, and wash towels. If you got a housekeeping rate they do come in daily and clean up, give you more detergent, etc. Ours was a housekeeping rate, but we did have to purchase ... Dawn dish detergent, laundry detergent, coffee filters/coffee (Mr. coffee regular size). There is a SuperWalmart further down on 535, when you pull out of vistana take a right go through interection of 535/536. About 1-2 mi on right hand side set back is SuperWalmart. I'd do a search on this site there is a very helpful woman that knows ALOT about this resort. Not sure of her name, but her replies have a picture of her older children in front of a sign for the food/wine festival.
Enjoy!!! :flower:

Thanks for the info. I was able to do a little more research on this website and found some others who stayed there and also had valuable info. Some pics too which was nice. Can't wait to just be there! :sunny:

You will get an answer re: driving on the transportation board. My friend loves Vistana...so close they usually do the parks 4 days out of a 7-10 day trip.
