Driving through...Nashville area questions

For those familiar with the Nashville area...we are driving through on our way from Michigan to WDW and plan to stop somewhere in the area for the night. I've been looking at the LaVergne area south of the city as we'd like to get through Nashville the night before and not have to deal with morning traffic. Can you tell me about this area? I only see a really limited number of motels off the highway...we're looking at the HI Express off I-24. Should we be looking elsewhere??

The LaVergne area should be fine. You should be far enough out to miss most of the morning traffic. If you can go a little farther to Murfreesboro you will find a much larger selection of hotels.
