Hi everyone-

This will be our first trip to Disney when we will be staying off site. We have park hopper tickets and plan to drive to the parks. For those of you who have done this before please share your expertise! How hard is it and how long does it take to drive from park to park? We will be there the last week of August/1st week of September. Is this going to be a huge pain? We have always used disney transportation in the past so this is a new one for us. We do plan to arrive before park opening at the first park!

Any tips/advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Just remember to hold onto your parking receipt. Then you show it at the next park and you don't have to pay for parking.

I like the freedom of having my own car. It depends on where you plan on visiting first but I always liked parking at Epcot, then taking the monorail to MK. I could also visit MGM and not move the car.

It also depends on how you are staying. If you plan on being at a park when it closes for the evening you should park your car at that park.

I've always driven and have never had a problem park hopping. It's only a matter of minutes to drive from one park to another. Signs are clearly posted telling you which way to go :thumbsup2 .

DH and I were offsite last February for dh's conference and we ended up using our rental to drive to and from the parks. We would park the rental where we expected to end our day which is generally Epcot :)

So we would park at Epcot and take the monorial to MK, or bus to AK or MGM for the day and then return to Epcot for the evening. It was no bigie to jump on the bus or monorial and dh liked not having to drive all day. Having the car in the Epcot lot at the end of the day was terrific.
