For those of you that drove overnight to Disney, how did you handle the hotel in the morning when you arrived? I'm sure my dh will be tired and ready to take a rest not to mention a shower! We're staying at the Doubletree DTD again and I was disappointed to hear they will not let us into our room until 4pm. We would need to spend an additional $170 for the night before. Bummer! That's an expensive shower!

Anyway, for those of you who did this how did you handle the day you arrived?

Thanks!

I don't know of any hotel that will let you check in prior to 3/4ish so your situation isn't unique. At the WDW Resorts you can use the pool area including the bathrooms and showers all day even though the room isn't ready, hopefully this is also an option at your resort. Otherwise you can pre check in when you arrive and ask nicely for an early room. Since check out is usually around 11am you may get lucky and get into your room early but I wouldn't expect it before noon/1pm unless the hotel is not very busy.

Good luck

Just back. I was very surprised that when I checked in (hours before check-in time) I was told that our room was ready. The front desk clerk seemed shocked too, so maybe you'll get lucky.

Normally, when we arrive I'm desperate for a shower. However, I'm not paying for an extra night just to get into a room a couple of hours earlier. So, we'll either book a dive that costs under $50 somewhere else and shower/clean up there with a bag packed just for that day. Or, more typically, stop at a rest stop (most in Florida are wonderful) and brush our teeth, wash our faces, reapply deotrant, and change clothes. Then just wait until we get into our room. It's not the best feeling, but when you stay onsite in a deluxe, it's better than shelling out the major money.

I'm just going to hope the room is ready early. Even 11am would be better than nothing. Honestly I can't imagine spending that extra money. Thanks!
