DH got stopped for speeding the weekend before last (no lectures please)
He explained to the traffic officer that he would need his licence back fairly quickly and (on their advice) surrendered it there and then (both parts). He phoned the number on the back of the 'ticket' and paid the fine last Monday morning first thing but still no licence. He has just phoned the court to be told that the licence has not yet arrived there. Upon speaking to the traffic cops, apparently they are awaiting 'something' from the policeman who stopped him before they can process it.
I am severely panicking now as our holiday is in 10 days and DH will need his licence to collect the hire car. Is there any way around this? I thought I read somewhere that the 'ticket' issued by the police acts as his licence but, in all honesty, would this be accepted by either a) the rental company (Dollar) or b) the police in Florida if he was stopped over there for any reason? Anybody know?
Please help, I feel completely sick
