Has anyone made the trip from the INDY area to WDW recently? We are planning to take 65 - 24 - 75 route. Can anyone tell me if there is any major contruction going that route? Also plan on going through ATL about 2pm on a Thursday, how will the traffice be at that time?

We just purchased a Garmin with "traffic" for a road trip we just took and it was SO helpful and reduced a lot of stress.

We also have a Garmin with traffic. I am trying to detirmine if we should go another route, because I also got a AAA triptik and it shows alot of construction on I-24 in Tennessee. Does anyone know about any construction delays on this route?

Why not avoid 24 all the way and go the I-74 - I-275 (Cincinnati) - I-75 route through Lexington? It only adds a few minutes to the overall planned trip time. You'll probably still have some construction along I-75 further south, but at least you won't get tied up in the construction along 24.

You can also look up construction along your planned route on each state's Department of Transportation's websites.

We went down that way Sat July 11 and came back through Thur June 23. I'll ask my wife to be sure, but at that point there was no major construction to speak of that couldn't be avoided. Headed down there was a major night time closure on 75, 4 lanes closed, headed through Atlanta. We heard about it on the Sirius traffic station and just took the bypass around. We found it worked best to just get in carpool lanes when available. We hit Atlanta headed north about 2:00 on Thursday and it was way better than expected. Things moved along just fine the entire time. I don't think that we went slower than 55 mph at any point.

Thanks, for these links. They really help and it appears most contruction in TN is at night and should not effect our trip.

Thanks for your info. This is the preferred way that we would like to go and sounds like the construction isn't that bad. If you or your wife have anything else you can remember about that route, please let me know. Thanks again!

Glad to help a fellow Hoosier driver. Looks like I'm just up the road from you too. We're up in Pendleton. :)

Enjoy your trip and stay safe on the roads!

depending on when you go through Atlanta the traffic can be majorly backed up due to traffic(from construction). We got stuck in it on the way home and it took about an hour to get through Atlanta when it normally takes 10-15mins. We drove home on a Saturday and drove down on a Friday.

There wasn't any other location that there was noticeable construction.
