Has anyone ever driven from Indiana to WDW? We're driving down for Turkey Day (straight through - leaving at 4:00 pm) and we weren't sure how accurate the MapQuest time estimate was? Thanks a bunch!

We've driven from New Albany to Orlando but that was some years ago - before I had a computer and Mapquest. We fly now. Mapquest is my favorite way to route a trip. I like it better than AAA Triptiks. I think it usually takes us less time than Mapquest indicates but then my DH drives fast.

I think the AAA TripTiks have improved in recent years. They now do them via their Intranet site and print them off and spiral bind them like books. They're a lot easier to read than the older ones. Another advantage I think AAA has over Mapquest is info on construction and "high enforcement" speed zones. Mapquest's times are "slow" because they factor in time for "pit stops", meals, and such. If you look at the total milage of a trip you have them route and the time they say it'll take, it usually averages to something like 59 MPH. What they are showing you is "door-to-door" times, not "road time"

Thanks - I'll probably do both AAA and MapQuest. I'm just looking for a time estimate right now. I think it *should* be around 15 hours?

I've driven from Indianapolis several times and it has taken between 15 and 16 hours.

We drove down from Terre Haute in Febuary of 2001 and it took us exactly 16hrs. We didn't have Interstate travel until we crossed over into Kentucky. We mapped out our trip prior to going using Microsoft's Streets and Trips. It was dead on....16hrs.

Hey, I am from Terre Haute. It takes us about 16 hours as well. It should be a little faster from Indy due to more Interstae at the start.

Many times. 16-18 hours, depending on traffic, number of stops, etc.

We've driven it, too, and found that the best way to save time is to go thru Atlanta in the wee hours of the morning. It we went thru during the day, it can add 1-3 hours to the trip.

What part of Indiana are you from? We are from the north central part of the state and it usually takes us 17-18 hours.
