Has anyone who drove to WDW (south on I-75 to Florida Turnpike) found that the signage for the resort is virtually non-existent? It was about 2 a.m., I'm driving while the rest of the family was sleeping, and I totally missed my exit off the Florida Turnpike taking the new toll road that I was told takes you directly into the Disney property.

Having read that it was called "Daniel Webster Road", "Western Beltway" or "Western Way", I was looking for these road names or at least a sign that said "Walt Disney World". None of these signs were anywhere to be found! After I took the next exit, getting off the turnpike (and having paying the toll!) to look at my map, I discovered the road name was Toll Rd. 429 South. So I got back on the turnpike (paid my toll again!) and took the 429 South.

So if you just remember one road name off the Florida turnpike to get to WDW, just remember to take 429 South!! Gladly, the exit off 429 is labeled "Disney World/Hartzog Rd." and it takes you directly to Lake Buena Vista Rd. - Surprise! I see the first lighted sign that said "Western Way" - a little too late.

Here's a pdf map of the 429 toll road in case anyone else might need it!

Thanks so much for the information - we'd probably have done the exact same thing on our way in about three weeks from now!

Thanks so much for the info and map. We're leaving in less than 3 weeks and have been trying to find as much info as we can about 429. This is really helpful!

As you come south on the Turnpike you need to look for the exit that reads: TOLL 429 APOPKA / TAMPA. I've read that they intend to put signage on the Turnpike indicating you can get to Disney World using this route but as of now it is not so marked. So get off at this exit and proceed SOUTH in the direction of TAMPA.

And indeed, the exit for Western Way is not currently signed as Western Way either. But it does read DISNEY WORLD / HARTZOG ROAD. Exit here and you won't get lost because the ramp will circle you around and on into WDW through the new western gate.

There are only a few exits coming south on TOLL 429 and there are absolutely no services. So if you're low on gas, don't use this route as you'll be stranded in the middle of nowhere! The toll is $1.00 to the WDW exit.

Is the $1.00 you pay at the Disney World Exit the only toll you pay on this road or are there others? If there are others, what is the total?

If I am coming 75 South, get off on the FL Turnpike, then off on 429, where do I go from there to get to All Star Movies? Is it better to go on to I -4, and then off at E. Buena Vista?

Please help me know how to do this. Also, which locations will I pay toll, and does it have to be exact change?

I-75 S to FL Turnpike, then Exit 267A which is 429. As you exit, hang a right to TAMPA. Once on 429, take Exit 8 marked DINEYWORLD/HARTZOG ROAD (about 8 miles on 429). When you exit, you'll be on Disney property (next to Coronado Springs), just follow the signs to your resort!
There's one $2.50 toll on the FL Turnpike, then a $1 toll on 429. Booths are manned and will give change.
We could not believe how easy this was and how much time it saved. Just don't tell anyone else, so it doesn't get crowded! ;)

You pay one toll on 429 before you get to the Disney/Hartzog exit.

If you do not get off at the Disney/Hartzog exit then you will have to pay another toll.

You're actually on the 429 for 14 miles, not 8 miles, from Florida's Turnpike to the Disney World / Hartzog Road (Western Way) exit.

As mentioned, the toll is $1.00 between those two points. This is a mainline toll plaza, not a toll at the exit. If you're paying cash you drive onto an exit-like area where the toll booths are located. Those with SunPass or E-PASS remain on the main road straight ahead and don't have to stop for the toll since the toll has been prepaid.

A good description of Section C of TOLL 429 exists at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Beltway_(Orlando)
Included is a photo of a different mainline toll plaza on 429 but the concept is the same with cash payers exiting to pay and high speed tolling down the center for those with transponders.

When you get off at Hartzog Road, Exit 8 you will circle around and head to the east into Disney. Just follow straight ahead until you see Coronado Springs on the left. At the stoplight straight ahead turn right and go straight ahead underneath an overpass and by McDonalds on the left straight ahead to the All Star resort. It is about 2 miles from the turn at Coronado Springs.

There is no toll at the Disney exit.

Does anyone know if Illinois' I-Pass will work with the automatic tolls in Florida as well?

Unfortunately, the I-Pass will not work on FL toll roads. They have a program called SunPass. Totally different.

Yes it does. It is a great bypass. There isn't anybody on this road. :cheer2: You will pass AS, AMu, and then AMovies. They are all right together. Enjoy your trip.

While there isn't a lot of traffic yet on TOLL 429 (Western Beltway) between the Turnpike and WDW, the FHP is out there. So watch your speed. Also, as warned about on another thread, watch your speed carefully on Western Way as the Orange County Sheriff has been running a "speed trap" on that road between the 429 exit and Buena Vista Drive.
