Driving Hints 1-95 to Beach Club

First time actually doing the drive to Beach Club from Philly this weekend.

Any road warriors want to share their 'best routes' from 95 right to the BC?

Also wondering if we should still stay clear of DC Beltway / Wilson Bridge mess. What are your favorite routes around DC without using 495?

We drove years ago from the Philly area and found the best advise we got was to leave around 3 am to avoid the DC traffic. We also used mapquest and they recommended taking 495 around Wilmington and again around DC, it was very easy to do. We are flying out Wednesday staying at the Hard Rock and arriving at the Beach Club on Sunday.

Take the west side of the DC beltway ( I think thats "outer loop") and you miss the Wilson bridge. Normal advice is to listen to traffic reports and choose the route around based on them, but with the wilson bridge const, "go west".
