We will be staying at the cabins at FW in june. We have dinner reservations for WCC. My question is will we be able to drive our golf cart to the resort or will we have to take a bus? Does the boat go over to the WL? Thanks

Its been a few years but I have seen golf carts at the end of the path in FW that leads to the WL. I am sure it's not a spot where you can "officially" leave the cart and walk the rest of the way..but I have seen them there. There is a barrier that prevents it from going past. Also, I'm not sure what time you plan to be at the the lodge but I don't believe that the path is well lit at night. I'd think a better option would be the boat. Bike riding between the resorts is also an option during the day.

In order to get to this area, you would drive past the sign that says no carts beyond this point. Carts are not allowd on this path or outside of the borders of FW. This is clearly spelled out in the rules you must sign when you rent a cart.

There was a very short time several years ago when you could drive a cart to the Lodge. They had a small golf cart parking area at the end of the exercise trail. Alas, somebody probably messed that up for the rest of us.....

If you have a golf cart just park it at the marina and take the small launch to the Lodge. Very nice ride and quick and easy!

I think you are correct. Having stayed at the Lodge and rented bikes to go to FW, we would see golf carts from time to time at the point where the two resorts meet. Also..4 years ago, we saw a family in a golf cart go right under our balcony that looked at the Villas..overlooking the walking/bike trail to FW..and they apparently came straight through to the marina area. I don't think this was likely permissable, as I hadn't seen any other golf carts do that..the few we had seen in the past were usually where the path joined both resorts. I wonder why is it exactly that you aren't supposed to leave your cart(especially if it's your own cart)..where the resorts join paths? Is this to discourage pool hopping? Sometimes people just want to use the restuarants of the WL..like the original poster..seems a shame they have to take a bus or boat when they could easily use the cart if it were permitted.

Golf carts and camping are now sadly enough "go together items".
