We have always flown on our trips to WDW but are thinking about possbily driving next time. Could anyone who's done this tell me the route they take? And how long it takes? Do you spend 1 night somewhere along the way? We live about 1 hour North of Milwaukee.

We live about 1/2 hour north of Milwaukee, although we have never driven to Disney, we did just return from a driving trip to Stone Mountain, GA. It took us about 14 hours and we did it all in 1 day. Friends of ours live near Stone Mountain, and they drive to Disney every year it takes around 8 hours. So I guess it would be around 23 or 24 hours for you. I think that would definately require an overnight stop. We decided we would never drive to Disney because we were pretty worn out after driving 14 hours. Midwest Express has really reasonable airfare out of Milwaukee, and that is our favorite airline. Sorry, I can't help you with the route. I know we went through IL, IN, KY, & TN, but am not sure of all the highways.

We live about an hour southwest of Chicago and we take I-57, I-24 and then I-75 down into Florida, so from where you live you could easily head down thru Milwaukee, get on I-294 and take that around to the Dan Ryan and eventually I-57...

If I was you I would time my travel so I am going thru Chicago (and Atlanta) during non rush hour times, ... If you decide to drive straight thru and its managable, I would probably suggest leaving around noon, hitting Chicagoland around 2:00 PM, Atlanta around 4:00 AM and into Orlando before lunch....
