Driving from Twentynine Palms

I will be driving to Disneyland from Twentynine Palms on Tuesday, August 24th. I believe that the park opens at 8am. What time should I leave to get there at opening time?
I can prepare for horrible traffic, I just don't want to waste the first hour the park is open.

Yikes. Mapquest shows that as a 126 mile, 2 1/2 hour drive, but the westbound 91 freeway is horrible during the morning rush-hour. Is there any way you could just get a hotel the night before? Otherwise I'd say leave at 4am.

I can't leave the night before but have no problem leaving at 4am if that will help.
