Driving from Tulsa, OK

I swore I would "never" do it again, but DH and I just did the math and are thinking of driving to WDW from Oklahoma. We are leaving from Tulsa this time instead of the OKC metro area, and I'm trying to figure out the best route to take. I have looked up the "quickest" route on both mapquest and Rand McNally and received two different itineraries. One goes east from Tulsa to Nashville, TN; then south through Georgia to Florida. The other goes southeast from Memphis, TN. They can't both be faster. In fact, the "best" route on Rand McNally's website is different than the one in their US driving distance map. Needless to say, I'm confused. Does anyone here have any 'real' experience with this drive?

I live in Tulsa also and have comtemplated the drive but never driven it. I've seen the same conflicted routes you are seeing.

You said you had driven it before? What route did you drive before and how long did it take? Most maps seems to show 21-22 hours, did it really take that long? or was it longer?

My last drive was leaving from Norman, OK. We went south through Dallas, down to Shreveport, LA, and across along the coast. (Baton Rouge, LA, Mobile, AL, etc...) It was an extended family 2-car caravan trip. It seemed to take a lot longer than 22 hours to complete, but that may be just because it was such a nightmare drive. (4 kids ages 6 and under, my teenage sister who refuses to get up before 10 a.m., lots of potential for conflict-I wish I could find my trip journal-I would post it on the report board for laughs). Anyway, my Dad said going back from Tulsa to I-35 and following the original route would add time, which we don't want to do, so I'm hoping someone here can help both of us out. This time the trip will be with my DH and just our kids, which is much more manageable. (or so I hope)
