Driving from Sanibel to WDW, any FL experts?

We will be coming down in August, first spending a week at Sanibel then some time at the Poly. We are flying into and out of MCO. Is there any other way to get to Sanibel other than I4 - I75? Has anybody found an alternate route that would be less congested but not take too long?
