Driving From MCO To OKW

DS is going to OKW for Thanksgiving. (Nice, huh? I'll be home. He'll be at WDW!)

Can anyone give driving directions from the airport to OKW? He is not too familiar with the area, as he is a recent WDW convert. (I normally take the train when I travel there, so I can't help him.)

I'd appreciate any help! Thank you!

Most directions will tell you to take the Bee Line to I-4 west, but we always find this way has MUCH more traffic than going the southern route so now we take the 417 toll road and just take the WDW exit then follow the signs to OKW once you're on Disney property.

I just received my confirmation for our trip next year to OKW, and the directions on there are 417South (toll) to State Road 536 West to WDW Resort area. Follow signs to resort.

I am also a 417 fan. The other thing for him to keep in mind when driving around is that he wants to head toward DTD in most cases.

Depending on the time of day he'll be driving, make sure he has some quarters for the tolls as not all of the booths are manned and just have the type where you toss in your quarters and go.

If you take 417 you will have a dollar toll just after you get on it from the airport, then a few miles down the road you will have another dollar toll. After the second toll take the very next exit, the sign will say Epcot. Keep going straight on this road. When you go under the Walt Disney World Sign take the very next exit (for Downtown Disney) as you come down that road you will see the DVC lighthouse. Go straight across at the light. You will find Old Key West at the 3rd light on your right (counting the one you went straight at past the lighthouse)
