Anyone making the long drive from this area? Any suggestions as to what the best route to take would be? Actually, I'm coming from central Oklahoma, but plan to drive down to Paris, TX then Marshall, TX and across. Trying to decide if it's best to drive east to Vicksburg, Jackson, then angle down through Hattiesburg to Mobile; or to angle down from Shreveport to Baton Rouge and across. We will be making the trip in June 05 and can't wait! Thanks!

I vote for the I-20 to Jackson, through Hattiesburg and Mobile route...

Here's a thread from a few months ago with lots of Dallas-WDW driving info on it.

Go I20 east to Jackson then take US98 or US49 (cant remember which is first) Just follow the signs to Hattiesburg. From there its US98 or US49 to Mobile AL. Take I10 from there to I75 and then your home free. One word of warning, the Panhandle of Florida is long and boring!! By going to Jackson, Hattiesburg, you will break up the boredom by going through some smaller towns. Speed limit stays up through most. Gas prices are a little cheaper too since your not on the Interstate.
The ride from Shreveport to Baton Rouge and New Orleans is very boring too. Not to mention the Louisanna State Police are out in force and will write tickets for going 5 mph over the limit on that route.

Have a great trip. We made it in 17.5 hours. 14.5 or so was on the first day. Made it all the way to Lake City where I10 and I75 intersect.

Have a great trip!!
