driving from ct

If driving from ct (around bridgeport), where would the halfway point be to disney and also about how many hours total drive is it (assuming you are going the speed limit).

Everyone that I know that has driven from our great state of CT always stops somewhere is South Carolina.

According to Mapquest, it's about 18.5 hours from Bridgeport to Orlando and 1,150 miles. That averages out to about 62 MPH and does not allow for any stops.

It looks to me like the midpoint would be somewhere in North Carolina, but I've never done the drive. Maybe someone else can be more help with that.

Hi Buzz2400

I am originally from Trumbull (-right next to you..now from Newtown)! We drove to Disney years and years ago, pretty much non stop (except for bathroom breaks & to go to a drive through for some food) and made it to the Florida line in 19 hours.

Hey DANAW- I am originally from Trumbull too, class of 1989-my parents, sister still live there (my sisters are 1980& 1983 grads) & I am going down to visit them tomorrow. I now live in the sticks-Deep River (think Essex Steam Train). I also dated a kid from Newtown, small world!

buzz2400-I have driven as far south as Myrtle Beach from Trumbull a few times. We stopped south of Richmond one year & the other year I can't remember where we stopped. I know on the way back we have stayed in Maryland north part to avoid NYC traffic & in the DC area.

I did a trip tic a few months ago since we were deciding whether to drive or fly & since flights were a good price we are not going to drive. If you want one, let me know & I can email it to you.
