Which is the shortest/fastest/best way to drive, through South Carolina and I-95, or straight down I-75 through Georgia?

The web-based route planners seems to always go the eastern route, but it looks to me like I-75 may be shorter.

I'm from just north of Louisville and we usually drive down 75 through Georgia (when we drive, which isn't very often). Have only drove through Carolinas when going to Savannah, GA last year (75 through TN then 95 through GA). That trip alone was 12 hours each way.

It takes about 16 hours or so from Lville depending on what time you leave with traffic and ongoing road construction.

Don't know if that helps or not. :p

Straight through on I-75!!!!

We are from Cincinnati and the last time we drove it was during the Olympics and AAA took us through the Carolinas and it took us almost 22 hours.

We do not stop unless we need gas and I am not kidding. On the way home we traveled straight through on I-75 and it was fine since it was at night.

Our route takes us through Cinci on the way and 75 is the best. The other way took us forever! Go thru Atlanta using the HOV lane. AAA will route you on the bypass, but it is much longer!
