i shall be driving to orlando this sept. and i read somewhere about not being able to take meat over the border. Is this just packaged meat or does this include sandwiches? i was hoping to bring some snacks and sandwiches in a cooler for the long drive so this info kinda floored me lol.

I'm driving straight thru, 3 adults switching off, from sarnia to disney so if anyone has some suggestions , 3kids, i would greatly appreciate them. I already have a dvd in the van, i bought etch a sketchs and magnetic boards with fun activities, window markers and colouring stuff.

thanks

From just north of Toronto straight through also. When are you leaving???

From what I understand you can't take meat across the boarder but we took meat in our sandwiches as we also load up a cooler and actually my DD has a sandwich in her hand as we spoke to the boarder people and he didn't say a word. I just might not offer the information.

Go back a few pages on the Canadian board as there are several threads about customs and driving down to Orlando.

We drive down to Orlando and the last time they asked if we had any meat products, fruit and dairy with us. We were asked specifically if we had a beef products with us. What we do is take canned tuna instead of deli meats. The next time we drive we are planning to stop at a grocery store once we cross the border just so that we don't get into trouble. We have a car fridge so do tend to take a lot of edibles with us such as water, pop, snacks etc.

we're leaving sept. 5th. we're actually leaving from kitchener but have to stop and pick up my mom and neice in sarnia.

My husband drives truck into the States, usually crossing at Sarnia. He has had to throw his beef sandwiches in the garbage, and also his apples and pears because he could not prove that they were grown in the States. Of course I take of the stickers when I wash them, so the fruit had to go into the garbage as well.
